Accuracy in Media

Global warming may be a hot topic but Al Gore’s much hyped “Live Earth” concert brought a chill to NBC which broadcast the concert during prime-time on Saturday night.

Television ratings showed that the concert drew just 2.8 million viewers making it the least watched program on any network Saturday night trailing such “heavyweights” as “Cops”, “America’s Most Wanted” and the 2001 movie “Monsters Inc.” each of which drew 22-68% more viewers than the Gorefest event.

As is the normally the case with the mainstream media NBC tried to make lemonade out of lemons by saying that some 19 million people watched at least six minutes of the concerts that were broadcast on its networks, NBC, CNBC, Telemundo and Bravo which had 18 hours of coverage.  I’m sure the sponsors and advertisers were just salivating over those numbers. When you are out rated by a six-year old animated move you have been whipped.

So it looks like Gore’s career as a rock concert promoter may be over, but there is no doubt he will suffer little from this global disaster thanks to his friends in the liberal media.
