Harry Reid: Media Covering for GOP [Video]

During an interview with MSNBC’s Chuck Todd on Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) expressed his frustration with the mainstream media, telling Todd that they aren’t calling “things the way they actually exist,” giving Republicans fairer coverage than they deserve.

Reid grew defensive when Todd asked him about complaints by Senate Republicans that he is limiting their ability to amend bills and cut deals, and blamed Republicans like Sen Tom Coburn (R-OK) for delaying hundreds of bills.

Todd: It feels like a tit-for-tat game. You don’t believe there’s any tit-for-tat going on here?

Reid: One of the problems the press has in modern-day journalism is everything you do is a tit-for-tat. You won’t call things the way they actually exist. What has happened here is the Republicans have stopped everything from happening. You can give me the tit-for-tat all you want, but the fact is we want to legislate.

Oh Really?

If that’s the case, then why did it take more than four years to pass a budget, or why have they rejected some 40 jobs bills passed by the House?

Reid may think that the media have been overly favorable to the Republicans—which is utterly absurd—but when was the last time you heard the media call the Democrats obstructionist?
