MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews, who is interviewing President Obama tonight, told MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts that while he will be asking Obama about issues surrounding his management style, he also plans to ask him some easier questions, ones that Obama can sink his teeth into:
I think he’ll have to deal with this NSA story that’s out there today in the Post dealing with surveillance. Let him do that because that’s why he’s coming to do this. And then get into questions that I want to get into, with executive management and political dysfunction in this country that we talk about all of the time on the program and get into some easier questions, for example, voter suppression efforts by the Republicans so he can bite into that.
Matthews has never pretended to be a fair and balanced journalist, but this much-hyped interview is nothing more than a brazen attempt by Obama, in collusion with Matthews and MSNBC, to shift the debate away from the disastrous Obamacare rollout and try to salvage what’s left of Obama’s final term in office.
