Former Vice President Al Gore is venting his frustration with global warming skeptics today with a 24-hour broadcast, in an attempt to convince them of the dangers of global warming.

Reuters reports that Gore wants to drive action against global warming among households, schools and businesses and will include 200 new slides. Oh Joy!

“24 Hours of Reality” will broadcast a presentation by Al Gore every hour for 24 hours across 24 different time zones from Wednesday to Thursday, with the aim of convincing climate change deniers and driving action against global warming among households, schools and businesses.

The campaign also asks people to hand over control of their social networking accounts on Facebook and Twitter to it for 24 hours to deliver Gore’s message.

“There will be 200 new slides arguing the connection between more extreme weather and climate change,” Trewin Restorick, chief executive of the event’s UK partner Global Action Plan, told Reuters on Monday.

“There will be a full-on assault on climate skeptics, exploring where they get their funding from.”

Gore, who recently compared global warming skeptics to racists during  the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s and criticized President Obama for deferring implementation of EPA smog regulations, is concerned that the skeptics have gotten the upper hand recently as polls show that concern about global warming has dropped to 48% from 62% in 2007.

Global warming has also taken several hits from various scandals over the years showing that scientists had manipulated data to show global warming was more of a threat than it actually was, and from most of the Republican presidential candidates during the recent debates.

The Gore fest will be webcast on www.climaterealityproject.org .
