Accuracy in Media

As the presidential election season begins, many of the Republican presidential hopefuls will be trekking to Nashville today to address the annual meeting of the National Rifle Association (NRA). The hopefuls will try to out “pro-gun” each other in an effort to gain support for their mostly yet-to-be-announced campaigns.

The aspirants addressing the meeting today will include Sen.Ted Cruz of Texas, who has officially announced his intentions to seek the presidency, along with former Governor Jeb Bush of Florida, Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, former Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas, Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Governor Mike Pence of Indiana, former Governor Rick Perry of Texas, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, former Senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin and billionaire Donald Trump.

Trump is the only one of the potential candidates who has announced that he will meet with the media following his speech.

Notably missing from the list, apparently due to scheduling issues, is Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, who announced this week that he is running for president.

They will be speaking today at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum, which begins at 1:00 p.m. CDT and will be livestreamed by AIM.
