The crisis in Egypt breathed new life into CNN yesterday as they soundly beat MSNBC across the board in the key A25-54 demographic.

CNN still fell short in total audience figures against O’Donnell and Maddow. Parker Spitzer came within 123,000 of O’Donnell which should be too close for comfort for MSNBC. The ratings are likely to resume a more normal pattern once the crisis fades. However, it does show that for major worldwide news events, MSNBC doesn’t compare to CNN.
