Accuracy in Media

Conservative radio talk show host and movie critic Michael Medved kicked off the American Film Renaissance film festival Friday by telling the audience that the pretense that the media is non-partisan is now gone. Medved, also suggested that CBS register as a 527 which brought laughs and approval from the crowd.

In addressing Hollywood Medved spoke about Mel Gibson’s ” The Passion Of The Christ” which grossed nearly $400 million in the U.S. and several hundred million more worldwide making it a huge success. Yet how has Hollywood reacted? They have largely ignored the film with even studio heads admitting they never went to see the movie. Why has the Hollywood establishment ignored the film? Because they don’t agree with it. Sounds just like the major media, doesn’t it?

Medved’s talk energized the audience who then went on to see Showtime’s DC 9/11 which was directed by Lionel Chetwynd, who gave us the fabulous Hanoi Hilton in 1987. If you haven’t seen the Showtime movie go rent it and with all the fuss about Vietnam these days, seeing the “Hanoi Hilton” would be worth it as well.  If you can’t find the latter contact me at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and I will see if I can locate a copy for you.
