CNN once the leader in cable television news continues to struggle to find an audience despite bringing in a new president to turn the network around.

What’s even worse for the network is that the ratings for Wolf Blitzer and the new Parker Spitzer shows failed to attract 100,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demographic that advertisers covet.  In fact when compared to the 8 p.m. ratings from just three months ago when Rick Sanchez was warming the seat Parker Spitzer lost nearly 30% of the audience which can’t make new CNN president Ken Jautz happy.

Jautz faces some daunting challenges in turning around CNN but if he moves quickly to axe failing programs and moves away from the mushy middle political path the network has chosen to a more defined one then he may just succeed in making the network competitive again.
