CNN’s Chris Cuomo decided to ignore commenting on his brother — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s controversial remark that America was “never that great” on his own program Wednesday evening.

Instead, Cuomo spent the program interviewing James Clapper, former director of national intelligence, about the revocation of former CIA director John Brennan’s security clearance being revoked by the White House, a debate between CNN political commentator Ana Navarro and Congress of Racial Equality leader Niger Innis about the lack of White House black senior staffers, a discussion former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman’s tapes of Trump and other staffers, and CNN’s Don Lemon’s take on the latest Catholic church abuse scandal.

Even though Cuomo ignored his brother’s remarks, fellow CNN hosts Erin Burnett and Anderson Cooper discussed it on their respective programs.

Cuomo’s office tried to walk back his remarks in a statement released Wednesday saying that he believed America was currently “great” but hadn’t reached its “maximum potential.”
