CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin criticized the hosts of ABC’s The View for joking about the physical appearance of Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, saying she looked “demented” and was wearing a “Halloween” mask.
Baldwin said those remarks angered her as both a journalist and a woman, and that the hosts had gone too far.
I love The View. I have been a long-time Whoopi fan. I think Joy Behar is one of the funniest people on TV, but ladies, come on. Double standard much? First people jump on Trump for his comments in Rolling Stone about Fiorina’s face. He followed up at the debate saying she was “beautiful.” Which, by the way a lot of ladies didn’t like either. Why do we have to talk about her looks? Because she’s a woman?
Baldwin went on to say that “we can do better,” and then showed a clip from The View where Joy Behar was asking Donald Trump about his comments about Fiorina’s face, to which he said that he was referring to her persona. Behar then asked, “if that’s the case, why don’t you talk about her brains and not her face?”
Double standard indeed, but the attack on Fiorina is a new low even for the liberal hosts of The View.
