CNN fact checker reaches early conclusion about Biden

Mainstream media claimed that former President Donald Trump lied tens of thousands of times during his presidency, but since Joe Biden took office, there has been scant fact-checking of the new president’s falsehoods.

CNN’s Reliable Sources discussed fact-checking in the Biden presidency compared to his predecessor with the network’s own fact-checker, Daniel Dale.

Host Brian Stelter asked Dale a question submitted by a viewer about whether or not his job had gotten easier now that Biden is president?

Dale replied that it hasn’t gotten easier because there is “so much nonsense, misinformation, and disinformation in the world,” but with Biden, there is less because he “talks less, he tweets less, and he lies less when he talks and tweets,” adding that doesn’t mean he’s perfect because he has exaggerated and embellished in the past.

At least Dale admitted that Biden lies while setting a new bar for what the media find acceptable by the president.

The media is calling Biden out on some lies, but that’s mainly to appear to be tough on him while letting him skate by on the bigger ones that could cause embarrassment to the man they worked so hard to elect.
