In his commentary last night on the 2012 presidential campaign MSNBC’s Chris Matthews said that while the Democrats have their candidate, the Republicans are searching for a candidate that “fits their campaign of heat and hate.”
First of all what does he mean by heat? Is he talking about global warming? More likely it just sounded good when it rolled off his tongue.
As for the hate accusation, exactly who has been hateful about the campaign so far? What attacks there have been on the President have largely revolved around his policies and the fact that he doesn’t have a clue as to how to create jobs and revive the economy.
Up until now the Republican presidential candidates have spent far more time attacking each other than they have Obama, but Matthews is doing his best to lay the groundwork to make sure that whomever wins the GOP presidential nomination plays nice with the President to help ensure his reelection.
