Fox News Channel, which reshuffled its primetime lineup last month, was rewarded with boffo ratings from Megyn Kelly, whose new show The Kelly File finished as the second highest rated show on Fox News and all of cable news for October.
Kelly’s show averaged 2.23 million total viewers and 383,000 in the key demo, trailing only longtime cable news champ The O’Reilly Factor, which clocked in with 2.84 million total viewers, and 458,000 in the demo.
These are significantly better numbers than those of her predecessor Sean Hannity. He was moved to the 10 p.m. timeslot and was averaging just under 2 million total viewers, and 300,000 in the demo.
In less than four week, Kelly has beaten O’Reilly twice in the demo, which is unheard of. She apparently poses a serious threat to O’Reilly’s longtime dominance in cable news.
Good thing they both work for the same network.
