Al Gore?s new cable network Current TV is off to a slow start with advertisers according to Advertising Age magazine. With a potential reach of just 20 million households the nascent network is practically giving away ads despite rock bottom prices according to media buyers cited by the magazine.

The network is unlikely to improve its ad results until it reaches more homes and can then be measured by A.C. Neilsen for ratings. While the network is targeting the coveted 18-34 year old demographic, it is far from a sure bet that this group is interested in watching news on television versus the internet especially when it?s being delivered by Al Gore.
