ABC News reporter Paula Faris called Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX)  a “rock star” during an interview with him on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.” on Sunday.

“You’re a rock star,” Faris said to O’Rourke.

“No, no. There is just so many great people,” O’Rourke replied.

“No you really are,” Faris insisted.

O’Rourke is challenging Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in what had been a close race until recently as Cruz has begun pulling away despite O’Rourke having raised $38 million.

Faris previously served as a  co-host on “The View” and an anchor on the weekend GMA before leaving both programs for a new role as an ABC News anchor and senior national correspondent.

It was in that role that Faris interviewed O’Rourke.

Faris also interviewed Cruz for the program but took a decidedly less friendly tone by asking him of Donald Trump was a “friend or foe” trying to reignite the bitter feelings the two had for each other during the 2016 presidential campaign.
