Accuracy in Media

“60 Minutes” managed to obtain the first interview with Mitt Romney and his new running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, on Sunday, but after the segment aired questions have arisen when it was revealed that some of Ryan’s comments on Medicare were left on the cutting room floor.

According to HotAir.com, Ryan’s comments on his own mother, who lives in Florida and is on Medicare, didn’t make the final cut:

My mom is a Medicare senior in Florida. Our point is we need to preserve their benefits, because government made promises to them that they’ve organized their retirements around. In order to make sure we can do that, you must reform it for those of us who are younger. And we think these reforms are good reforms that have bipartisan origins. They started from the Clinton commission in the late ’90s.

I’m sure ’60’ Minutes didn’t intentionally edit the comments out and that it was just an oversight.  Right.
