WASHINGTON – Obama’s former Border Patrol Chief stands with President Trump on the growing southern border crisis. Mark Morgan, served less than a year as the head chief of Border Patrol under the Obama Administration.
Yesterday, on Fox and Friends Morgan slammed Democrats for “overwhelming” ignoring the facts on border security. Morgan’s appearance comes after Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen testified in front of the House Homeland Security Committee. During the hearing, Democratic lawmakers grilled Nielsen on their key talking point – detained migrant children being caged.
Morgan argued that Democrats are being driven by identity politics and pushing a false narrative. Morgan, who has lived and worked along the border strongly refuted the liberal narrative.
“…It’s a talking point for the Democrats. They’re not cages. They’re actually really nice facilities. And there are chain link fence within the facilities, but it’s designed so the border patrol agents working there can provide safety and security for the people that are there. And, remember, they’re only there for max 72 hours before they’ve got to be released.”
During the hearing Nielsen pushed when facts on illegal immigrant statistics in comparison to previous year.
According to a recent report from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection this year has had the highest number of illegal immigrants crossing into the states. Specifically, more than 76,000 individuals have attempted crossing over in just the month of February. Out of the 76,000 there were 7,249 children crossing unaccompanied, and 40,385 were families.
