TEXAS – A new Fox video shows U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehending almost 300 migrants in Texas just this week. This large apprehension comes on the heels of another caravan with an estimated 10,000 migrants making its way through Mexico. The caravan is said to have its sights set on the U.S.
National Border Patrol Council vice president Hector Garza slammed Congress for turning its back on the growing southern border crisis.
“The caravan is no accident. It’s actually the result of all these sanctuary policies. It’s the result of Congress not acting and continuing to encourage illegal immigration,” Garza said.
OTHER BORDER STATES
Not far from Texas where the surge of migrants are crossing is Yuma, Arizona. The city of Yuma declared a state of emergency due to the large surge of migrants seeking asylum. Yuma Mayor Doug Nicholls said in the last 19 days approximately 1,300 migrants have entered into the city and drained resources from temporary housing to food and baby supplies dry.
Between October and March 2019, more than 24,000 family units have crossed into Yuma from Mexico. That’s up 273 percent.
President Donald Trump continues to hold a fierce stance on border wall security and has intention of backing down despite a Congress that has not worked with since he’s declared his first veto after declaring a national emergency.
Our Border Control Agents have done an incredible job under very adverse conditions. I am very proud to have increased their salaries because of the great job they do. Nobody deserves it more. THANK YOU and keep up the outstanding work! pic.twitter.com/ljy3hZOgfL
