Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey admitted in an interview with CNN Sunday that he and his company have a “left-leaning” bias.
Dorsey said the company is “ready to question everything” as it comes under scrutiny for its policies on disciplining users that violate Twitter’s rules. The company has recently come under fire for “shadow-banning” right-wing users.
“Being open about our own personal views and what we think about what’s happening is important,” Dorsey said. “I’ll fully admit that I haven’t done enough of that. I haven’t done enough of articulating my own personal objectives with this service and my own personal objectives in the world.”
“We have to understand first the problem we’re trying to solve, like what incentives we actually want to drive; not just what we want to remove, but what we want to drive.” But he said he knows he wants incentives “that encourage people to talk and to have healthy conversation.”
