Rachel Maddow Won’t Let Mueller Report Go

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow won’t give up on promoting the Robert Mueller report. Or as  The Washington Post’s [1]Paul Farhi describes it, “the queen of collusion is not backing down.”

“A day after Attorney General William P. Barr said special prosecutor Robert S. Mueller III hadn’t found collusion [2] between President Trump’s campaign and Russian agents, Maddow — prime-time TV’s primary and most tenacious proponent of the conspiracy angle — still was not buying it,” Farhi wrote. “Maddow’s monologue suggests she is unmoved by the many attacks on her for promoting a Russia conspiracy that, at least according to the attorney general, seems to have run aground. Her nightly deconstructions of the case against Trump have made her the signal figure of the anti-Trump left and have abetted her rise to the most popular figure in cable news.”

Maddow’s critics called out the anchor for perpetuating the false narrative for nearly two years.

“Today’s memo from AG Barr functionally renders every episode of @maddow for the last 22 months TOTAL FICTION,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) tweeted [3] on Sunday.

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity, who shares the 9 p.m. EST time slot, said that Maddow should apologize [4] for “lies.”

“Her audience has been sold one conspiracy theory, night after night after night,” Hannity said. “A lie, night after night after night. For 22 months. She has profited from these lies to her audience on a spectacular level.”

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted out a New York Post “March Madness” spoof graphic [5] putting Maddow as the top seed of an NCAA basketball-style bracket of anti-Trump media and political figures called “Mueller Madness.”

“Mueller Madness!” Sanders tweeted. [6]“Which of the angry and hysterical @realDonaldTrump [7] haters got it most embarrassingly wrong? #YouDecide [8]

Maddow’s bracket described her with “Nonstop collusion rants came to naught.”
