MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt gunned for Democrats to begin impeachment proceedings, offering them a playbook on how to do so.
“How badly do you want it? Impeachment could be Dems’ only path to key information,” the accompanying MSNBC video’s headline coaxed.
“So far, Democrats have little to show for about 50 separate investigations into the president’s conduct and 15 congressional subpoenas,” the article stated. “The question now: is it worth pursuing impeachment to gain access So far, Democrats have little to show for about 50 separate investigations into the president’s conduct and 15 congressional subpoenas. The question now: is it worth pursuing impeachment to gain access to the information they want?”
Hunt positioned her conversation in the video segment with the idea that Democrats must be fighting with the White House rather than working across the aisle.
“You have started to hear some of your colleagues start to use the phrase ‘impeachment proceedings’ as they talk about what to do next to fight with the administration, the suggestion being that maybe they do have to open those up to start to actually be able to demand some of what you all have been seeking,” Hunt said to a House Democrat on her show.
Hunt didn’t mention the failure by former Attorney General Eric Holder to comply with congressional subpoenaing by Republicans who declared Holder in contempt. Hunt also didn’t mention that polls show that by a nearly 20-point margin, Americans are opposed to impeaching Trump.
