MSNBC held a conversation in a segment about the GOP efforts to appeal to female voters and recruit female candidates but lacked any pro-GOP voice who could effectively voice the Republican strategy and describe existing networks of support for female candidates.
“Does the GOP really want to diversify its ranks?” MSNBC’s website stated . “The Republican party is looking to recruit more female candidates ahead of 2020. The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin discusses with MSNBC’s David Gura.”
Rubin, who is an anti-Trump conservative columnist for The Washington Post, said there wasn’t an infrastructure to help support GOP women, yet she failed to mention the many organizations like Winning For Women, RightNOW Women PAC, Susan B. Anthony List, Maggie’s List, Women’s Public Leadership Network, and Maverick PAC’s Maverick Women.
Rubin said Republican immigration policies, tone and messaging were ineffective, yet failed to highlight the fact that since January 2017, the U.S. economy, as of March, has added nearly 3 million new jobs for women , and during President Donald Trump’s first year in office, the number of American women in poverty fell by nearly 600,000.
