Liberal comedian Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher,” admitted that the Robert Mueller report offers no compelling evidence to impeach President Trump and that Democrats are grasping for straws if they pursue impeachment.

“Bill Maher mocks Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff (CA) over his obsession with President Donald Trump and Russia,” tweeted out The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra.

“But this was our big gun,” Maher said on his HBO show. “Now it just looks like you’re stalking him, I think in the eyes of the people who don’t follow it that closely, which is most of the country. Here’s the thing about Bob Mueller. He’s like the last person, maybe the last thing in America, that Left and Right agreed on. Left and Right basically agreed: this is a guy of honor, this is an honest guy, this is an honest broker, whatever he says goes. Americans are not into details, ‘Don’t read it to me, Bob, just give me a thumbs up or thumbs down.’ The fact that he was like ‘Uhh?’ If you couldn’t impeach before, how are you going to impeach after? Or should you?”

Maher’s sentiment is captured by most Americans, with “a majority of Americans oppose impeachment with only 37 percent saying they favor starting the process and 56 percent,” according to Vox reporting of a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
