Did Michael Hayden edit his own Wikipedia page in Taliban-Trump controversy?

Former CIA director and Air Force General who served as NSA director under Bill Clinton and George Bush, Michael Hayden may have a new job as a Wikipedia writer and Twitter publicist.

Over the weekend Hayden, 76, retweeted a post that suggested that unvaccinated Trump supporters should be sent to Afghanistan. Presumably, he means it as punishment. But it’s hard to tell with a guy who as is responsible as anyone for the sorry situation in Afghanistan.

It was Hayden, after all, who created the modern surveillance state after 9/11, expanding the government’s ability to track U.S. citizens. It was Hayden who was at the apex of the intel hierarchy during the Afghan war under Bush.

But not content with that as his legacy, Hayden apparently has taken to Wikipedia to burnish his career.

Because if you look at his Wikipedia entry, there is evidence that it might have been self-edited.

Under heading Civil Liberties there appears the following entry:

On 8/22/21, I replied “Good idea” to a tweet that read: “Can we send the MAGA wearing unvaxxed to Afghanistan, no use sending that plane back empty.

 “I replied…”?

It could be just an editorial error by another writer, but given how amenable Hayden seems to be to both the media and the elite politics that it supports, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the page was edited by Hayden himself.

Last week Hayden compared the Trump administration to the Taliban by retweeting photos of Taliban in trucks with Trump supporters in trucks with the caption: “Our Taliban.”

The irony is too rich.

From torture to domestic spying, to a failed war, Hayden has had an uncomfortable relationship with civil liberties and reasonable government policies throughout his career.

That he now frames his opposition to Trump with cheers by Democrats just shows you how far the leftist party has strayed from their supposed anti-war, civil libertarian stance.

You can count Hayden as just another war-on-terror cast-off, like Comey, Brennan, McCabe, whose band now only has appeal to the party that wants unvarnished government power.
