Accuracy in Media

CNN omitted relevant information in an article about former Vice President Joe Biden as he runs as a Democratic presidential candidate.

Hillary Clinton’s endorsement of Biden made the front page, but the cable news network’s article did not mention sexual assault allegations against Biden.

CNN headlined Clinton’s endorsement, “Hillary Clinton endorses Joe Biden.” The article quoted Clinton’s praise for Biden and how he is not only a friend but the leader that the country needs. Biden has been “preparing for this moment his entire life,” Clinton said during the virtual town hall endorsement.

“I wish he were president right now,” she said.

Yet there was no mention from Clinton or CNN about the sexual assault allegation dogging Biden and his campaign for the past month.

Tara Reade, a former Senate aide to Biden, accused the presidential candidate of sexual assault while working for him in 1993. Biden’s campaign denied the allegations.

Other Biden supporters, such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, also avoided mentioning the sexual assault allegation in their endorsements.
