Accuracy in Media victory: Iowa candidate Rita Hart drops challenge to House seat

For months now, Iowa House candidate Rita Hart and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi have been trying to steal a House seat from a duly elected Republican, Mariannette Miller-Meeks. They just dropped their request, thanks in part to the investigation and work done by Accuracy in Media and its supporters.
Last fall, one of Accuracy in Media’s investigative reporters caught campaign staffers on hidden video potentially violating FEC regulations, which could result in five years of jail time. Fox News covered it at the time.
Accuracy in Media then discovered documents proving that Rita Hart was on the payroll of companies funded by the Chinese Communist Party. AIM filed a complaint and request for an investigation into potential foreign interference with the Office of Congressional Ethics.
Miller-Meeks won her seat by six votes, but Pelosi and Hart decided to contest the election anyway.
4,515 Accuracy in Media activists sent 47,790 emails to Congress about the attempts by Hart and Pelosi to disregard the will of the people of Iowa and overturn a certified election.
On March 31, Rita Hart announced that she would withdraw her contest before the House Committee on Administration.
From her statement: “After many conversations with people I trust about the future of this contest, I have made the decision to withdraw my contest before the House Committee on Administration. Since Election Day, and throughout this entire process, my mission has been about ensuring the voices of Iowans who followed the law are not silenced.”
This is a major victory for the people of Iowa, Americans concerned about free and fair elections, and Accuracy in Media and its supporters.
