MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell failed to push back or correct Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s false assertion that President Donald Trump “has not acknowledged that Putin got involved in the 2016 election.”

“How can one let the conduct of a president inviting at least three foreign governments to interfere in our elections not go investigated?” Biden said while phoning into the MSNBC program “Andrea Mitchell Reports.” “And to this day, he has not acknowledged that Putin got involved in the 2016 election.”

Biden’s charge against Trump is false, yet Mitchell didn’t challenge the falsehood, ignoring the sanctions enacted by the Trump administration against Russians for interfering in both the 2016 and 2018 elections.

“A very sad situation,” even The New York Times reported President Trump said about 2016 election meddling. “It certainly looks like the Russians were behind it. Something that should never, ever happen. And we’re taking it very seriously, as I think are many others.”

Mitchell is an award-winning journalist and the NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent, yet she didn’t mention these important foreign policy facts about the Trump administration in her interview with Biden.

Instead, Mitchell allowed Biden to also claim, without evidence, that the killing of murderous ISIS leader Ab? Bakr al-Baghdadi by U.S. special forces “got pulled off, I think, in spite of [Trump’s] actions.”

Biden made this explosive claim about Baghdadi — without any pushback from Mitchell–despite admitting that “Look, I don’t have the classified information as I did in the past.”

Mitchell also allowed Biden to claim that President Trump’s plan to keep troops in Iraq to protect the oil fields was “like putting up a 500-foot banner, a recruiting banner, for ISIS,” Biden said, without any evidence to back his claim. “He just doesn’t seem to understand anything about foreign policy.”
