I’m pro-choice but against abortion.

“I’m pro-choice as far as a woman choosing, but I’m against abortion.”

- Jack Carter , February 2006.

Abortions are easy to perform.

“I noticed that some of the later D&Es [dilation and extractions] were very, very easy. So I asked myself why can’t they all happen this way. You see [with] the easy ones . . . you’d reach up and grab the foot of the fetus, pull the fetus down and the head would hang up and then you would collapse the head and take it out. It was easy. At first I would reach around trying to identify a lower extremity [a foot] blindly with the tip of my instrument. I’d get it right about 30-50 percent of the time. Then I said, ‘Well gee, if I just put the ultrasound up there I could see it all and I wouldn’t have to feel around for it.’ I did that and sure enough, I found it 99 percent of the time. Kind of serendipity.”

- Martin Haskell , 1993.

Too bad John Ashcroft is alive.

“Too bad John Ashcroft’s mother didn’t believe in abortion.”

- Cybill Shepherd , April 2004.

Doctors don’t perform abortions.

“No doctor is going to do an abortion on a live fetus. That doesn’t happen. Doctors don’t do that. If they do, they’ll get their license pulled, as well they should.”

- Howard Dean , January 15, 2004.

Abort those who are sick.

“Any time you can prevent a seriously sick child from being born, it’s good for everyone.”

- James Watson

I must march for abortion.

“I have to march because my mother could not have an abortion.”

- Maxine Waters , 2004 (approximately).

We empowered abortion with lies.

“We persuaded the media that the cause of permissive abortion was a liberal, enlightened, sophisticated one. Knowing that if a true poll were taken, we would be soundly defeated, we simply fabricated the results of fictional polls. We announced to the media that we had taken polls and that 60 percent of Americans were in favor of permissive abortion. This is the tactic of the self-fulfilling lie. Few people care to be in the minority. We aroused enough sympathy to sell our program of permissive abortion by fabricating the number of illegal abortions done annually in the U.S. The actual figure was approaching 100,000, but the figure we gave to the media repeatedly was 1 million.

“Repeating the big lie often enough convinces the public. The number of women dying from illegal abortions was around 200-250 annually. The figure we constantly fed to the media was 10,000. These false figures rook root in the consciousness of Americans, convincing many that we needed to crack the abortion law.

“Another myth we fed to the public through the media was that legalizing abortion would only mean that the abortions taking place i1legally would then be done legally. In fact, of course, abortion is now being used as a primary method of birth control in the U.S. and the annual number of abortions has increased by 1,500 percent since legalization.”

- Bernard Nathanson

Mandatory abortion.

“The distribution of birth control devices and the imposition of mandatory abortion practices in the third world countries is now ecologically insufficient and unfairly out of world social balance. The white, upper and middle class females of modern society are too healthy and fertile to be exempted from some imposed regulation of international law or mandate. An American born child is environmentally too expensive to maintain to his or her adulthood in a world economy. American women must be subjected to some manner of regulation beyond licensing or immediate and mandatory abortion practices.

“Unconventional and extreme measures must be implemented and enforced by global U.N. mandate as it is deemed necessary. The bodies of these world eco-criminals should be commercially yielded for reintroduction in the world’s natural systemic food and nutrient chains, in order to restore a more natural biological balance and order to our Sacred Earth.”

- Jacques Cousteau , 1992.

Giving thanks for abortion.

“I’d be happy to give him [President Bill Clinton] [oral sex] just to thank him for keeping abortion legal.”

- Nina Burleigh , July 1998.
