ACADEMIA PUSHES HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA

We have discussed how the militant homosexual agenda is being advanced in and by the media, but it is being promoted even more blatantly on college campuses. Nowhere has this been more evident than at the annual conference of the Modern Language Association (MLA) held a few months ago. It was covered by Campus Report, the monthly publication of Accuracy in Academia, an organization related to Accuracy in Media. It says that among the teachers of English and other modern languages, the popularization of homosexuality seems to have supplanted Marxism, multiculturalism and feminism as the most favored cause.

One of the panel discussions at the MLA’s four-day convention was titled “Queering the Family.” Tim James, a professor from the University of Illinois, appeared to be trying to legitimize pedophilia. He suggested that “Daddy-boy relationships may represent an emerging form of family organization.” In a panel on gay marriage, two University of Minnesota professors who recently adopted a Russian boy dismissed the need for a mother-figure, insisting it was better to expose the boy to a “socially diverse upbringing.”

The convention’s focus on transgendered persons, that is, men and women who have undergone sex changes, was bizarre. This was discussed in a panel titled “Resisting Gender.” If you wonder what this has to do with literature, here’s the answer. Selena Wahng, a Ph. D. candidate and adjunct professor at New York University, presented a critique of various X-rated videos featuring sex changes. One person interviewed on the video discussed his “emerging trans-fag identity.” It’s okay for homosexuals to call themselves “fags” and “queers,” but straight people are severely rebuked if they use such terms.

Ms. Wahng praised the video’s “finely calibrated transmasculine landscape made up of trans-fags and trans-butches.” She cited one of the video’s more emotional moments, a young Latino complaining that after moving to the predominantly white city of Seattle, he didn’t know many transgendered people of color, i.e., blacks and Latinos who had undergone sex changes.

This scholarly fascination with sex changes has not been lost on the mainstream press. The Arts and Entertainment cable network recently ran a program titled “The Transgender Revolution.” An activist was quoted saying that this is the fourth great rights movement of our era. Sympathetic media commentary followed. The Los Angeles Times published an article by a husband and wife who are both undergoing sex change operations in order to assume opposite gender roles in their marriage.

Establishment journalists are not shy about supporting the homosexual agenda. They are aligned with academia in pushing this new envelope that presents the plight of men and women who have undergone sex changes as an extension of the civil rights crusade instead of a cruel hoax to undermine the already shaky foundation of the traditional family. College-age kids should be advised to steer clear of these sexual perverts masquerading as scholars.
