Mr. Joshua Bolten
White House Chief of Staff
The White House
Washington, DC 20502
Dear Mr. Bolten:
Senator Obama’s costly pro-U.N. “Global Poverty Act” is heading toward the President’s desk. We strongly urge the President to veto the bill because it amounts to a global legislative earmark or mandate on the federal government to spend $845 billion for U.N. purposes. Please do not be fooled by claims from supporters of the bill that it has no price tag. This is a budget buster that will break the bank and dramatically accelerate spending on foreign aid. Will the President oppose this legislation?
