Dear Ambassador Hughes:
It has been reported by the Dallas Morning News that you want to work with Al-Jazeera, known as Osama bin Laden’s favorite TV channel, and even encourage U.S. officials to grant it interviews. At the same time, your website says U.S. strategy in the war on terrorism must be to “isolate and marginalize the violent extremists.” Al-Jazeera is the major global voice for those extremists. We suggest a different approach. Please contact the Emir of Qatar and ask him to pull the plug on this pro-terrorist, anti-American channel. And please do what needs to be done to keep Al-Jazeera International out of U.S. media markets.
