Dear Mr. Dubow:
Your flagship paper USA Today has been forced to back away from its story that major U.S. telephone companies turned over telephone records to the NSA. Before that, USA Today had backed away from its story based on the bogus Bush National Guard documents. A pattern of sensational but flawed stories seems to be emerging here. While we can understand why you would not want to intervene in its news operations, something has gone seriously off track, putting the reputation of Gannett at risk. What can you do to make a course correction and get the paper back to quality journalism?
