Dear Mr. Kurtz:

You did not do your homework for your October 9 CNN interview with actor George Clooney. Clooney’s new film praises CBS News commentator Edward R. Murrow, who made a name for himself by challenging Senator Joseph McCarthy. One of Murrow’s famous charges against McCarthy was that the Senator unfairly maligned Army code-clerk Annie Lee Moss as a communist. But journalist M. Stanton Evans has cited records showing that Moss was in fact a communist, as identified by a party informant. It turns out that McCarthy was right and Murrow was wrong. Please check it out for yourself and then report the facts to your viewers and readers.
