Dear Ms. Spellings:
Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies reported that you laughed during a recent symposium when one of his staffers called for strong enforcement of the immigration laws to keep illegal aliens out. Are you aware of the case of Mahmoud Kourani, the alleged member of the terrorist Hizballah group who entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico in 2001? Hizballah tortured and murdered U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel William R. Higgins. The Detroit Free Press reports that Kourani reportedly harbored another illegal alien in his home in Michigan, and that the effort was part of a continuing scheme to smuggle illegal aliens into the U.S. from Mexico. This doesn't strike us as a laughing matter. Don't you agree that this is a serious matter that requires immediate attention?
