Dear Mr. Getler:

You have responded to critics of Washington Post coverage of the October 26 anti-war protest in Washington by saying that stories about the event should have been given more prominence. There's nothing wrong with that. The problem is that the Post and other papers have ignored the organizing role played in this demonstration, as well as an April 19 pro-Palestinian protest, by members of the communist Workers World Party. A simple Internet search discloses the WWP affiliations of key organizers and speakers Brian Becker and Larry Holmes. Left-wing journalist David Corn of The Nation has belatedly made this discovery, reporting his findings about WWP involvement in an article in L.A. Weekly. The WWP has responded by saying "So what?" to the charge of communist involvement. Why won't the Post publicize these facts?
