Dear Ms. Edmonds:
I want to commend you for having the integrity and courage to expose the wrongdoing you observed in the FBI’s translation unit. I have written to Director Mueller about this. He has recently repeated his pledge of no retaliation against Agent Coleen Rowley and has said that he “welcomes constructive criticism in the hope that we can learn from our past mistakes.” This is in a letter signed by Nancy Bronstein, Unit Chief of the Bureau’s Office of Congressional and Public Affairs.
It states that the Inspector General of the Justice Dept. has been asked to formally investigate the issues raised by Agent Rowley, but that does not appear to square with the treatment you have experienced. I wish you success in your efforts to secure justice and speed the realization of badly needed reforms at the FBI.
