Mr. Les Moonves
President and CEO of CBS Television

Dear Mr. Moonves:
In view of the role CBS News has played over the past 40 years in giving its viewers a favorable view of Fidel Castro and his Communist revolution, we should not be surprised that you, the president of CBS, would lead a delegation of television industry executives to Cuba to dine with Castro, loll on the beach, do the jazz club scene, drink a lot of white rum and promote tourism to what one of your companions described as "the most romantic, soulful and sexy country I've ever been to in my life."
But what did your trip accomplish for the United States, for the impoverished, regimented and disenfranchised Cuban people, for the cause of freedom and for CBS? I think I know the answer to that question, and I and many other Americans will think of it when we are sitting at home, trying to decide what channel to watch.
