Accuracy in Media

WASHINGTON, June 6, 2011 – Accuracy in Media’s Cliff Kincaid challenged Russia Today personality, Adam Kokesh, to explain his true intentions in recent protests at the Jefferson Memorial.

“American media consumers need to understand that there is more to this than unorthodox PR stunts,” Director of the Center for Investigative Journalism Cliff Kincaid said. “Since Russia Today has declared that an ‘Information War’ has begun, we must pay closer attention to those outlets seeking greater carriage in America – and why. What we saw at the Jefferson Memorial is just an example of how low RT will go for attention. It’s simply tragic to witness a disgruntled Marine veteran being used to advance Russia Today’s agenda.”

RT America is just another international alternative news source that has gained in popularity since American mainstream television has proven itself a vehicle for political and markting propaganda.

Adam Kokesh is an American with a love of American ideals stuck in his gut and he and his followers have committed themselves to awakening the sleeping public to the farce of freedom left in the United States.

Cliff Kincaid’s another tool of political spin using journalism to insult, demean and control public opinion rather than exposing truth. Kincaid is more a propagandist than a journalist – happy to sway public opinion by his opinion rather than educate or enlighten with truthful information.

His accusations towards Adam Kokesh (that Adam is a Russian spy; that Adam is an ‘agent’ of Russia) are flat out lies and fabrication with no other evidence for truth than his own opinion. Kincaid is the type of journalist that uses deception and the bearing false witness in order to sway public opinion. He is the epitome of insult, opinion and spin journalism masquerading as important information.
