Accuracy in Media

WASHINGTON, March 16, 2011 – Accuracy in Media Chairman Don Irvine today pressed Congress to quickly adopt H.R. 1076, a bill to prohibit Federal funding of National Public Radio and the use of Federal funds to acquire radio content.

“Tomorrow Congress will have a clear opportunity to deliver budget cuts for the benefit of all parties involved,” Irvine said. “I agree with former and current NPR executives that NPR would be better off without federal dollars; let’s oblige them. If NPR wishes to continue their thinly-veiled disparagement of millions of Americans, they can do so without taxpayers having to pay for the insult.”
