Hello,
I’m an artist and a teacher in NYC. I was one of those gifted students that got lost in the crunch.
I have tons to say about all the issues you discuss in this excellent podcast. I am going to get your book and pass it on to friends.
It’s about time that things changed in Education. Fact based learning, classical logic, debating methods. Get rid of “PC” Socialist Realism in textbooks, pedagogy.
There is no resiliency among many young. That’s because they don’t know about history and don’t listen to their elders. So we are stuck endlessly re-inventing the wheel here.
What happens when they are slammed with problems ? They think they can solve them with HOPE and CHANGE. NEW stuff. Criticizing and re-inventing. Meanwhile, the basics continue to dissapear through neglect and attrition.
I’m glad I found this podcast.
Innovation etc. is verbiage. We’ve had enough innovation. time to bring back the basics.
Look forward to meeting you one day.
