
C-SPAN periodically asks the old-timers in the media world whether they use Twitter. Now the public affairs network has compiled the answers, including the one from Newsweek's Jon Meacham that I mentioned before, into an enlightening video that reveals just how unenlightened the Beltway journalistic elite really are.
It's utterly embarrassing. They remain willfully ignorant as their profession changes before their eyes.
Here's a classic head-in-the-sand response: "I agree with Maureen Dowd that I would rather be eaten alive by ants than Twitter." You know a man is about to say something stupid when he begins a sentence with the phrase, "I agree with Maureen Dowd."
The profound insights into Twitter don't get any better as the video progresses. Even Jonah Goldberg of National Review Online dismisses Twitter.
