Accuracy in Media

Rick Santorum, a former Republican presidential candidate, appeared on CNN to discuss a report that said President Donald Trump has increased the amount of time he watches television.

His counterpart in the discussion, Angela Rye, disagreed with his opinion, which was that Trump can decide whatever he wants to do.

“I don’t know if you know, but the president is a pretty stressful office,” Santorum said.

Rye appeared to have taken offense at that comment, and responded using the title, “former Sen. Rick Santorum.” She went on to criticize Santorum for “talking down” to her because he disagreed with her views.

Santorum has a good point on the stresses that presidents face, regardless of political affiliation.

But Rye’s apparent mockery of Santorum’s former elected office rings hollow because Rye appears not to have an elected office on her resume.
