Accuracy in Media

ABC News first had the Brian Ross misreporting scandal, where Ross did not get the facts straight about President-Elect Trump directing retired General Michael Flynn to talk to the Russian government (Ross reported that then-candidate Trump made the decision, which would violate American law), and now had a minor reporting issue on social media.

On Twitter, a social media platform, ABC News reported that Paul Manafort, a former Trump campaign manager, was attempting to work on publishing an op-ed with a “Russian official” while under house arrest.

But, the reality was that Manafort was working with a Russian client unaffiliated with the government (yet had ties to Russian intelligence) and ABC News had to make the correction.

It has not been a good week for ABC News.
