Accuracy in Media

Colin Kaepernick, the football player that gained fame for protesting the national anthem, recently donated $25,000 to the organization Assata’s Daughters. The organization is named for a convicted killer of police officers who fled to Cuba after killing a New Jersey state trooper in 1973.

The donation is allegedly going to the organization to fund its “Cop Watch” program, which trains volunteers to videotape and follow police officers.

This action follows up actions and comments by Kaepernick, which have been anti-police in nature. He wore socks in a pre-game warm-up that had pigs wearing police officer hats and criticized police officers as “people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
