WASHINGTON — The head-in-the-sand mentality applies to the liberal mainstream media as they question why Americans are upset Obama was on vacation while international crises raged.

Reuters’ latest piece, entitled “As Obama’s vacation ends, criticism does not,” reporters wondered how Obama could receive such negative attention for a vacation in Martha’s Vineyard. At this same point last year, Reuters complained that Obama’s August vacations tend to be shortened due to crises.

The article read, “As Barack Obama discovered over the past two weeks, presidents can run into trouble when their playtime is perceived as detached from the concerns of Americans.”

It continues:

Obama returns to Washington on Sunday faced with having to repair some of the dings to his reputation after he came under fierce criticism for playing golf amid smoldering crises involving Islamic State militants, racial unrest in Missouri, a Chinese plane’s altercation with an American aircraft over Japan, and renewed violence in Ukraine.

After making a brief statement about the Islamist terrorist group Islamic State’s brutal beheading of captured American journalist James “Jim” Foley, Obama left the press conference went back to golfing in Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. The article quoted former press secretary of George W. Bush Dana Perino, “Perception is reality, and it takes a long, sustained effort to change perception.” It goes on to say, “Inevitably it happens with every president in the modern era” and listed examples from  George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton administrations.

And, adding insult to injury (to our intelligence), the article read, “For Obama, his nine rounds of golf over the course of two weeks on Martha’s Vineyard, about five hours per round, demonstrated his need to let off some steam from the white-hot political polarization of Washington ahead of a looming partisan battle over new immigration rules he will soon issue.”

So much for a balanced, neutral press.

What was hilarious was the look on the FOX And FRIENDS’ faces when Chris Wallace bravely and honestly corrected them after they Tried to vilify hard-working President Obama by comparing him to Reagan who Allegedly “immediately” dropped everything while on vacation and allegedly ran back to the WHITE HOUSE during a particular crisis. Chris Wallace stated that he himself knew for a Fact that Reagan was so reluctant to cut his vacation short that he lingered ON VACATION for Another FOUR DAYS.

It is the myopic, hypocritical conservative who needs to get his head out the sand. The rest of us don’t have amnesia – and you look ridiculous with your butts in the air!

President Obama is a human being – not a machine. Other Presidents got to take vacations – George W. Bush took more than TWICE as many – and President Obama will refresh himself as well. The Civil War ended “legalized” Slavery in this country. Apparently much to the chagrin of a few muttonheaded conservatives. Shaking my head.
