‘Google Search’ — like Facebook — says it will ‘detect’ fake news

Google said today that they will begin following the fake news lead of Facebook by marking searches as “unreliable” when breaking news stories are changing rapidly according to the U.S.  Sun.

“While Google Search will always be there with the most useful results we can provide, sometimes the reliable information you’re searching for just isn’t online yet,” Google said in a typical notification that’s being tested in certain markets.

The methodology mirrors that of Facebook and Twitter, where they have either removed items that they “feel” are untrue or labeled them false according to their fact-checkers.

Recently, Facebook had to do an about-face on fake news, when its year-long practice of noting claims about the lab-leak theory of the origins of the Wuhan virus, on second thought, may not be as fake as Facebook said.

Google said it has trained systems to detect news that is rapidly changing.

The big problem of course is that systems like this are subject to abuse and manipulation.

Regardless of government rules on speech, the advent of the internet has meant the greatest expansion of free speech in the history of mankind.

Now, two decades later, we’re headed in the complete opposite direction in the name of advancing progressive policies.

The Internet is being used to silence dissenting viewpoints that don’t agree with those policies.

And Google has been a horrible, Orwellian bad actor for protecting free speech.

For years, when you Googled the term “fascism” Google provided a definition that accurately defined it as a left-wing ideology.

Then once Democrats began using the term to attack Trump, Google flipped their definition and declared it to suddenly be a right-wing ideology.

We just hope they don’t follow Facebook’s example and use the Atlantic Council as fact-checkers.

The group previously focused on fostering European and American cooperation on a host of issues but now they’ve devolved into a political attack dog for the Left, supported by technology.

And unfortunately, Facebook actually looks to this left-wing group to determine whether or not something is “fake news”.

So, who will be training Google’s Artificial Intelligence in the future to flag results?

Democrats, Socialists, BLM, Red China?

Google, after all, canceled a Department of Defense contract over employee protests and instead decided to side with the Chinese Communist Party on artificial intelligence research.

The solution to this is to call Google out, to expose their actions to expose their hypocrisy, and to call on their shareholders to take action because this won’t end well—for anyone.

I think Google often forgets they’re a tech company, not an activist organization, though in Silicon Valley it’s often hard to tell the difference.

Google and other public companies have a fiduciary, legal obligation to shareholders, and if they are heavily pushing ideology rather than focusing on increasing shareholder value, they are not doing their job and breaking shareholder trust.

Accuracy in Media uses investigative journalism and citizen activism to expose media bias, corruption and public policy failings. Progressives and their allies in the newsroom have a stronghold over the mainstream media in this country, but they aren’t stopping there.

They are targeting our education system, Big Tech, the entertainment industry — every facet of America’s culture.
