With winds of change rivaling Hurricane Ike, John McCain’s
historic VP pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has blown away the left’s mask
of “inclusive tolerance,” exposing an ugly and desperate countenance below.
Flummoxed and frantic, their shameful attacks on Palin and her family have
revealed that liberal Democrats, the mainstream media, and those malicious hacks
in the “progressive” blogosphere are willing to navigate the deepest, darkest
sludge of slash-and-burn politics to see their man, Barack Obama, elected
President.
The way the media have dispensed with the hold-harmless
tradition of “hands-off the kids” and gone after the Palin children is both
deplorable and unprecedented. It tells Republicans, Independents, and moderate
Democrats alike everything they need to know about the extremist nature of
“Obama-mania.”
Examples are plentiful. NBC joked that Todd Palin – Gov.
Palin’s husband and father to her five beautiful kids – was having incestuous
sexual relations with his own minor daughters, in a disgusting and decidedly
unfunny hit-skit on Saturday Night Live. And Lefty pro-bama blogs, such as the
Daily Kos, have targeted teenage daughter, Bristol, cruelly attacking her over
and again on a personal level. (I imagine Todd’s itchin’ to drag those
patchouli-bathed pansies out to the woodshed for a not-so-tender lesson in how
to properly treat his little girl.)
“How dare McCain pick her?” they bellow. “How cynical.” To
them, she’s not a real woman and they’ve said as much. Just as Clarence
Thomas is really a rich white guy in blackface, she’s just a misogynistic female
impersonator.
Not surprisingly, the ultraliberal and presumptuously
self-styled “National
Organization for Women” has been
beating the warpath drums, claiming that Palin is “… more a conservative man than she is a woman.” And Wendy Doniger –
a feminist Kool-Aid guzzler with the University of Chicago – wrote
in Newsweek that “[Palin’s]
greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense
that she is a woman.” (Sorry, gals; Sarah Palin’s most definitely a woman.
Suppose some of that hate boils down to the fact that the governor is so easy on
the eyes?)
Still, it was uber-fem, Gloria Steinem, who placed her finger
directly on liberal feminists’ true bone of contention with Palin, writing, “She
opposes just about every issue that women support. … [She] opposes everything
most other women want and need.” Of course, Madam Steinem’s “everything most
other women want and need” can be summed up in a single word: abortion.
Palin blew it, you see. She made an unforgivable “choice.”
She publicly expressed, through both word and selfless deed, that she values all
people during every stage of development, from conception to natural death. Most
egregiously, she refused the sacrificial rite of passage into authentic
womandom. She declined to slaughter her own unborn child, Trig, to goddess
feminism – even after doctors told her he was one of those Down syndrome
throwaways. Steinem called her own abortion a, “pivotal and constructive
experience.” I guess, according to these nasty ninnies, we simply can’t have a
Vice President who “lacks experience” in “pivoting” and “constructing.”
Think about it. Sarah Palin is poised to undo much of what
the left has accomplished. Imagine her as a role model for millions upon
millions of young girls around the world. Imagine those young girls embracing
life over death on the abortion issue – embracing true feminism over angry,
abortion-centric feminism. They absolutely can't have that and will stop at
nothing to destroy her. We expect liberal bias from the media and other leftist
elites. But this time around, the bias is off the charts. It's finally exposed
liberals for who they truly are, and we have Sarah Palin to thank for
it.
The reality is that – except for those who, like Gloria
Steinem, think the preamble to the Declaration of Independence should have read:
“All women are endowed by mother earth with the inalienable right to eat their
own young” – Sarah Palin has connected with average Americans. Especially with
women. Most notably (oh glory day) with Hillary Clinton supporters.

This is a repeat of my post on another AIM thread.
Palin kicked Biden’s butt last night. It reminds me of a saying that they have in Alaska, “Alaska, where men are men and women win the Iditarod”. A saying that came about in honor of Susan Butcher who won the 1100+ mile dog sled race in 1986,1987,1988, and 1990.
We need to send ALL of the D.C. lawyer politicians (and let’s include the whiney fems) to Alaska to feed the Polar bears. Getting rid of thier hot air, and flatulation, will help green up the planet.
Return the federal government to the people. Go Sarah!
There is nothing surprising here - liberals are easily figured out. It makes no difference that they are female and she is female. Liberals are Liberals. They have been this way since they started their movement.
Think of them as little whining selfish children that want their way. And you could give them everything they want and that would still not be enough - they would whine for more. If you stand up to them, or you express an idea that is different than there ideas - they HATE you, and yes, hate to the nth degree.
And God forbid if they think you are going to take something from them they got through a lot of whining, lying and cheating, and deceit. And that is where Sarah Palin comes in. They hate her because she thinks different than them, and they hate her because they fear if she gets power they will take something from them that gave these selfish monsters the power that they have.
Remember, these people are liberals - they are the ones that will lie, cheat and steal to get their ways. And they are hypocrites - they yell tolerance, yet they are the most intolerant people America has ever produced. They want inclusiveness - yes they will NOT include anyone they disagree with. They are all about themselves.
When they argue for something, think if them as children who are trying to get you to buy them a gumball. But actually they want the entire jar of gumballs. So you can’t bribe them with one gumball, or three or ten. And when you get tired of them and give them the entire jar of gumballs, then they will whine for the jar of lawbreakers too. It is really easier to always stand up to them, because once they see they can intimidate, threathen, or whine you to death and get their way, you will never be rid of them. And you will never sate their selfishness for more.
They thrive on tearing down what has always been. Traditional America that was that way forever they HATE. And they want to tear it down and destroy it forever. But they will never be satisfied.
Think of abortion. They wanted to just assist the woman raped so she would not have to go in a backalley and use a coathanger and abort herself and then die. Seemed reasonable! Yet, when they are allowed to now have partial birth abortion they are not satisfied. And when the baby is aborted and survives the abortion - now they want infancide - they want to then kill the baby that was the result of the botched abortion. All this they got in incremental steps, and they are still not happy. When they can just slaughter there 3 year old kids, will they be happy?
Gay Rights - they just wanted people to be left along in the privacy of their own homes. After all, they weren’t hurting anybody doing that? Now we have a culture where they want to be married, and want to destroy the traditional marriage of a man and woman. When the vast majority of the people are against it, they have the corrupt judicial system in their power also, and a judge illegally says yes they can marry - they did it in Massachusetts and California - and it is law - illegal law - but law none the less. Think they are happy yet? Don’t bet on it!
But think of your own examples as our society has changed over the last 30-40 years. What they said they wanted was not what they wanted - they wanted more and they still WANT MORE!
And if you are against them, no matter who or what you are, they will beat you to death to get what they want - Sarah Palin is seeing this. And these people have absolutely NO shame - their greed for themselves has NO bounds - and the ends justify the means - and they will do ABSOLUTELY everything to get their way. That is the liberal.
Absolutely right on the money. They are scared to death that someone with Sarah’s natural charisma will win the heartland of America, and unveil the truth about NOW and others. I suggest that she go on TV and expose them all for what they are.
And while she is at it, she should slam that pitiful Bob Beckel whose commentary on FOX does a disservice to that channel. Beckel’s sex scandals from 2002 (see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/742223/posts) have literally corrupted his mind, if you know what I mean.

What is a woman, a mother of five, with a demanding job, who is marginalising her husband to a role of a grinning idiot, a woman who is waffling about the “glass ceiling”, other than a feminist?
A woman who has, mind you, made the CHOICE (as you put it yourself) not to abort her child. Neither for you nor for her abortion seems to be a matter of principle.
Can you spell “conservative” and “bluff package”?
Oh I forgot and you shouldn’t have mentioned the unspeakable Americanism “cute”:
A conservative woman’s unmarried 17-y-o daughter would be appropriately supervised and NOT get pregnant, a conservative woman would NOT lumber her children with fatuous Hippie-names like Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig, but (for example) George, Lauren, Fiona, Caroline and David and a conservative women would, above all, NOT get “cutesy” when she is cornered.
The Editrix - back in the 60s, the daughters that seemed to get pregnant were those who either had parents that were preachers and policemen - now I can not think of any professions more conservative than they were 40 to 50 years ago, so for the 17 yo daughter of a politician in 2008 getting pregnant, am I supposed to be shocked?
I can not tell you (or anybody else, for that) whether being shocked it appropriate or not. All I CAN tell is that a mother of five who has a demanding job and whose teenage daughter gets pregnant (and yes, we CAN fairly assume that this was due to lack of parental supervision) has lost most of her credentials as a conservative.
I am not American and I despise the badmouthing of Palin in the European media, and specifically because it’s for all the wrong reasons. However, I fail to see why American self-declared conservatives are so over the top about this woman. Say it was a clever manoeuvre by McCain to appoint her, a woman, young, and attractive in a non-threatening way. Say what you want, but do NOT say she is a conservative because that she plainly isn’t.
So she lost her Conservativeness when her daughter got pregnant? Is she now a liberal because of the actions of her daughter? If that is so, that she is now a liberal, because of her daughter, why do the liberals hate her so much?
I have figured a cure for this though. Calling all Conservatives - Now Here This - You must immediately run out and buy a chastity belt for your daughter because God forbid is she gets pregnant - you will no longer be a Conservative - I guess according to Editrix (above) when a Conservative’s daughter gets pregnant they can no longer call themselves a Conservative. OH OH What if a Conservatives SON gets a girl pregnant? Does the Conservative remain Conservative, or do they now lose their Conservativeness also?
I am curious Editrix - if a Liberals daughter does NOT get pregnant before she is 18, does the Liberal become a Conservative? Hey guys, this might work. We grab all the daughters of liberals in this country and padlock chastity belts on them, and when the daughter doesn’t get pregnant, we’ll be tall cotton - they will allbecome Conservatives. WOW, Editrix, thanks for pointing that out to me!
Now, I would suggest you contact Sarah Palin though Editrix, because she is still going around the country thinking she is a Conservative, and now that her daughter got pregnant, she must not know that she is now a liberal. Maybe cuz Alaska is way up there maybe they haven’t heard of your rule Editrix, so maybe you better let her know, huh?
As well as I can not tell you when you have to be shocked, I can not tell why liberals hate Palin so much. Ask that yourself or the liberals who hate her. I am tired of you asking ME silly questions only others can answer. I take it you are American, so go and ask YOUR Veep-candidate why she violates about every rule in the conservative book when it comes to her lifestyle. Why should *I* do that?

Let’s see if I have this right. The friends of Bill Ayers crowd is saying here that Gov. Palin is not a conservative. Thus, they should not be opposed to her. If they vote against her, they must be the conservatives. But they believe in killing babies, and that doesn’t sound conservative to me. So, let’s ask Sen. Messiah and his terrorist friends whether they are conservatives and whether Gov. Pailin is on their side. That will settle the argument.
Me thinks the Editrix is in drag, and we be talking to dave, TK and Brian Sullivan. The last post by Editrix gave you away - you all have in common that you like to call those you disagree with ignorant, etc. It is a new manifestation though, as Editrix claims to not be American - but then I might argue that they are all not Americans.

You can look to the current fiasco of the crumbling of the banking and lending institutions for your answer. One by one businesses are being threatend with law suits unless these special interest groups are given recogintion and a place to feel accepted. If these institutions don’t give in to their demands, they are classified as hatemongers, racists and homophobes. Which, by the way, we the average American, become labled if we don’t support these companies. It becomes a catch 22 for businesses if they don’t support the feminist, homosexual or any ohter group for that matter. Corporations can become tied up in court and spend countless hours and money defending their right to conduct business as they see fit, or give in and hope that the American people won’t notice.
I glanced at this article without any intention to comment. But looking at the name of the writer, and the names of 95% of the posters here, I realized that a simple question has to be asked.

This is pretty much mistake number one here. And mistakes 2-10. Matt Barber, whoever he is, is somehow qualified to speak definitively on specifically FEMALE questions? And to enthrone ANY woman as the apotheosis of feminist thought? You’ve really gotta be kidding me. Nobody can be this confused. If you don’t understand the problems with this, I don’t know what to do to clarify it for you.
This thread is so far off, it’s not even wrong. It would have to be inside the arena just to be declared wrong. As it stands, it’s straight-up comedy, and proof that feminism has a long, long way to go.
“We encourage members of the media to report the news fairly and objectively—without resorting to bias or partisanship.” Firstly, everything I have read so far on this site, including the articles contributed by AIM columnists, is not better than Fox. I’m not saying that I agree with supposed liberal media outlets but to claim that you report without bias when you clearly do is disgraceful. People are suffering, and yes the market will eventually recover, but it is incredibly volatile and unless the government intervene, it most likely will get worse. The Great Depression is the best example of this. There was barely any government intervention and the depression just dragged on until stabilised by the New Deal. The actions on Wall Street affect the whole world, so not only does the US have a responsibility to its citizens but also to the rest of the world. The government’s duty is to the people, so stop this anti-socialist rhetoric and do what is right for the people struggling out there.

Historical Fact. Much of what was done in the New Deal, actually exasberated the harm of the Great Depression, and prolonged its length. While it was eased a little, and certainly, I believe, FDR had the best of intentions, it was really World War II, that brought America out of the Depression and not the New Deal.
I like you do not want another depression, and if government can keep that from happening, I am for that. BUT government in all my experience in all my life, have stuck their noses repeatedly into affairs that are never and have never been none of their business - they have taken minor problems and destroyed everything in their paths. So for Americans, and people posting on this site, fearing more government involvement, that is more than reasonable. Government has a track record of power grabs and we the people lose in the end. True Patriots that care about their country stand up to that, and that is also reasonable.
Jack, your view on the New Deal is still under debate; it’s shared by less than a third of economic historians. That doesn’t automatically mean that it’s wrong, only that this reading hasn’t been persuasive enough to overturn the standard interpretation. It’s not quite a “fact” yet.

No disagreement here, though I do want to say again that his programs were starting to lessen the effect of Depression by the late 30’s, but it was only when war broke out in Europe that the economy finally changed for the better as we started to produce weapons for Europe plus American farmers had to produce foodstuffs for a Europe at war.

Your argument is full of fail. To suggest that just because Sarah Palin is a Conservative, then her life should be perfect, her children should be perfect and they should never make a mistake, is the equivalent of saying a liberal who decides to have a baby isn’t a liberal because they didn’t get an abortion. Simply idiotic.
That falls into the same line of thinking that a “Christian” who sins “isn’t really a Christian”. If Christians were perfect, they wouldn’t need church or the bible. Christians NEVER claimed to be perfect…to the contrary. They are in fact more willing than most to admit flaws and faults.
Hillary must NOT be a liberal because she didn’t “choose” abortion with Chelsea. Sound pretty stupid, doesn’t it.
And to suggest that Sarah Palin should have been “supervising” her daughter, 24/7, even when on a date, is also the epitome of ignorance. If you really believe that proper upbringing of children guarentees flawless children, then you really are clueless and should stop writing immediately.

Sure is idiotic. Your claim that the two are equivalent, that is. Are you in high school? If so, is it accredited? If so, do we need any more evidence regarding the abysmal state of our educational system?

The Feminazi’s hate her because she is everything they aren’t and never will be, including beautiful, credible and smart. The mainstream media has lost all credibility as has the Democratic Party and NOW because of their hypocritical stance against her. All the mainstream media is financially going down the tubes, finance wise because they are out of touch with mainstream America. Both the MSM print and broadcast medium are losing readers and watchers and have had big layoffs this year. Advertisers are tired of them insulting their possible customers, so they reduce ore eliminate advertising with them. Look at Ford, the same is beginning to happen to McDonald’s since they’ve decided to cram homosexuality down peoples throats. Levi Strauss Jeans is next since they are taking the same position as McDonald’s. But the people at the top of these companies are too stupid to realize what is happening and stockholders need to vote them and the board of directors out. Feminism is uselss because it is now about empowering women it is about radicalism and lesbianism.
