Throughout
the Cold War, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists kept a Doomsday Clock,
monitoring how close they thought the world was to catastrophic nuclear
destruction, measured as ‘minutes from midnight.' This week Iran tested
its first nuclear-capable, long-range missile and moved the hands of
the Doomsday Clock a little closer to disaster.
Why
does a nuclear Iran pose such a unique threat? After all, we already
have countries like Pakistan and North Korea in the ‘nuclear club' and
while we may not like it, we don't think of it as catastrophic.
First,
Iran has repeatedly declared its intention to wipe Israel off the face
of the earth. Nuclear weapons turn that from mere braggadocio to a
tangible capability. Second, if Persian Shiite Iran gets nuclear
weapons, then Sunni, Arab Saudi Arabia will want its own nuclear
arsenal to offset it. And Israel is already thought to have nuclear
weapons. This would set off an arms race - a nuclear arms race - in the most unstable, volatile region in the world.
Finally, a nuclear Iran will add muscle to its ambitions to dominate
the Persian Gulf and threaten not only Israel, but any country within
1200 miles of Iran - which includes the oil producing countries of the
Middle East, Turkey and parts of Europe. It would put Iran in the
driver's seat in controlling the free flow of oil through the Straits
of Hormuz.
And, as frightening as this all
sounds, it isn't the worst that could happen. As we have seen when
Israel bombed Iraq's Osirik nuclear facility in 1981 and Syria's
fledgling nuclear reactor last fall, Israel will not tolerate nuclear
weapons in the hands of its enemies. If Israel determines there is no
other way to stop Iran's nuclear program, it will bomb those
facilities. Some experts, including former US Ambassador to the UN John
Bolton, believe an attack could come before the next president takes
the oath of office in January 2009.
An
Israeli raid would be complicated - it's over 1000 miles from Israel to
Iran, and their planes would need permission to overfly Iraq, Saudi
Arabia or Syria, refuel in the air and destroy several targets which
are not only scattered throughout the country but also hardened. And
even if successful, an Israeli attack would be unlikely to wipe out
Iran's nuclear program.
What would happen
next? Iran has already announced it would retaliate by attacking US and
Israeli targets in the region and blockading the Straits of Hormuz,
which would be considered an act of war against the United States. An
Israeli attack on Iran, with or without American cooperation, would
trigger an Iranian response which could turn the Middle East into a
‘fireball', according to UN nuclear weapons chief Mohammed El Baradei.
But
wait - it gets worse. Forty percent of the world's oil goes through the
Straits of Hormuz, which is just 21 miles wide with shipping lanes only
two miles wide. Blockade, sabotage, terrorist incidents - all of these
are possible and any of them could halt the flow of oil. Even if the
Straits remain open in such a crisis, insurance rates would be
prohibitive. Gas rationing would be a given, and $5 gallon a gas just a
fond memory. The economies of several countries would literally
collapse.
Is there any way out of this mess?
Any glimmer of hope? Right now, not much. So far Iran has shown no
interest in halting its nuclear weapons program. It has rebuffed UN and
European proposals, it has not responded to economic and diplomatic
sanctions. Certainly, aggressive diplomacy will be part of any
solution, but so far Iran has been reluctant to engage.
Our
financial leverage is slim, because Iran is rich with high oil
revenues. Our diplomatic leverage is weak - the UN and others have been
reluctant to take a tough and united stand against Iran. Our economic
leverage hasn't been effective, because even if we slap increasingly
severe sanctions on Iran, other countries don't follow suit.
However,
this week former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger wrote an editorial
describing signs that Russia might be ready for a new relationship with
the United States, a possible strategic partnership to deal with a
range of issues. On the top of the list is what to do about Iran and
its nuclear ambitions; Russia is unlikely to want an aggressive,
nuclear armed Iran sitting just across the Caspian Sea.
Kissinger
is the most brilliant diplomat of the last 50 years - he negotiated the
end of the Vietnam War, the US opening to China, US-Soviet arms control
accords, and the first ever Middle East peace agreements. A US-Russian
alliance? A long shot, maybe, but certainly intriguing. And, were it to
work, formidable. Kissinger might just be on to something. For the sake
of all of us, let's hope someone in Washington and Moscow is listening.

This apokalyptic scenario is ominous. I think that Kissinger’s idea is unlikely to work. Right now the communist world and the Islamic world are allies of convenience while they work on their common enemy—the U.S. I doubt that Russia thinks it is in any danger from Iran.
The question is, of course, what should WE do NOW? We’re in their line of sight. Can we protect ourselves from an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) bomb? If we start building non-vulnerable back-up systems that will immediately cure our unemploymenjt problem and may save our lives.

You know the first thing we could do is encourage industries to begin manufacturing the things we need in this country. I don’t mean plastic geegaws and tons of unnecessary things - but necessities.
We should not be dependent on a foreign country for our basic needs - especially a foreign communist country.
We should stop the insanity of ethanol and encourge farmers to grow food crops. The government should not encourage, and help, farmers export food while we need it in this country.
China is able to grow industrially and militarily because our politicians are aiding and abetting the draining of money and resources from this country.
They are doing the same thing with Mexico and Mexico and China are getting mighty chummy lately.
Remember how anxious we were because Russia and Cuba were friendly???? Now we have Mexico and China - yet no one seems to be concerned about that.
Insanity - pure insanity.

The lady Texan offers some good things to do, but they are long range. The threat is upon us—within a few months to a two or three years. Israel is faced with a life-and-death situation. She will feel compelled to pre-empt Iran’s nuclear capability. Israel may not be able to complete the job, so the U.S. will feel compelled to come to her aid. After all, we’re next on Iran’s target list.
By that time Iran will have blocaded the Hormuz Strait which will be a devastating blow to our oil-based economy and we will consider that an act of war.
If Iran then launches a nuclear missile from one of its rust-bucket freight boats two or three hundred miles off our Atlantic seaboard. and detonates it two or three hundred miles above New York, the electromagnetic pulse will damage much of the electric grid of the eastern states and fry much of our electronics communication and control systems. Elevators will stop; city water pumps will stop; gasoline pumps will stop; fire trucks and food-hauling trucks will run out of gasoline; with communications down and street lights out and police cruisers out of gas, the criminal element will be out in full force.
Any retalitory nuclear missiles will have to be fired from a non-damaged part of the country provided they can figure how to set the GPS guidance system (where to aim the missiles).
In other words, we need to do something NOW relevant to THIS ominous threat.
P.S. It may not affect Texas for a while, so you all can sleep a little longer—what the U.S. does best.

Iran is a threat to Isreal - Isreal is a threat to Iran.
We have threatened to invade Iran. We have all the men and supplies necessary to do that just across their border.
I’m thinking Saddam thought the US would surely not invade, Iran isn’t going to fall for that.
What is Iran supposed to do? Sit there until we begin bombing their cities. Right or wrong, Iran is doing what any other country would do that is threatened from just across their borders. Well, any other country besides the US.
We let this government, both parties, through lies and spin, with swaggering, flag waving, fearmongering get us into one war. A war we will be paying for in many ways for generations to come.
Let’s sit back and think about this one before we get all macho and shoot ourselves in the foot again.
China already has as much capabilities as Iran and then some and all the ships they neet - not rust buckets.
But ships aren’t needed, we have an open border. ‘Little children, pregnant ladies, Grannies, Uncle Jose with a bad heart and tons of drugs’ come across that border on a daily basis. They don’t need big nuclear weapons to harm this country.
Is Iran a threat? Could be. Is our open border a threat - absolutely. Is China a threat - in every way.
So why are we being bamboozled into looking at IRan and only Iran?
Iran is a maybe - a possibility. China is a absolute certainty. Iran might harm us. China will own us.

“Iran might harm us. China will own us.”
Yes, dear lady, we have lots of problems. I was just looking at one of them set forth by the article.
I want to apologize for my sharp remarks about western Americans sleeping. That was uncalled for when seemingly directed to a nice Tesas lady. Please, forgive me.
You make a lot of good points about the enemies surrounding America. I’m not sure we are going to come out of this one alive. You are absolutely right that being self-supporting is basic to a strong defense.

Everything about American life is dependent on imported oil.Iran is very capable of harming us. In my opinion, our politicians have sold us out to our enemies. It is insanity to depend of foreign nations for the things we need for our existence. I understand that some of our critical missile parts are made in Red China. How insane is that? Factories in America are almost a thing of the past. Still our brilliant leaders refuse to stop the outflow of the American money. America is making third world countries rich. Neither of the men running for the Presidential Office are concerned about closing our borders. May God help us, our elected officials will not.

It is insanity for this country and our sovereignty. For the politicians, it is globalization, One World Order, moving right along.
This has been humming along for decades. It hasn’t mattered what party held what position, they all worked together to see that it moves along.
They have kept the people from seeing what is happening by dividing us along party lines.
Think about it. These politicians are not elected because the little people donate 10/20/100 - despite all the spin to the contrary.
They get their money from corporations, and who knows what else (foreign powers), funneled through their particular ‘party’ apparatus. Knowing that, and we do know that, we have deluded ourselves these people are looking out for the best interests of us and this country.
Pushing party loyalty - and only party loyalty was brilliant - absolutely brilliant. They were essentially saying ‘no need to think about the how to cast your vote, we’ll tell you.’ It worked.
Also, these people do draw a nice salary and perks, but they always come out millionare’s. They don’t live in Washington and become millionares on just the salaries they make. What they get from the taxpayers, in salary, is a pittance compared to their true income.
They don’t work for us - They have other employers.
We need to vote them all out - everyone of them.

Theres a lot our country is in for weaved lost a lot of gods ways in our schools are work place even in our own life’s he doesn’t seen to be needed any more that’s why I fill the country is in the shape its in today were in big trouble

THANKS FOR GIVING ME A CHANCE TO SPEAK MY 2 CENTS. WILL WE EVER LEARN? WE NEED A PRESIDENT THAT HAS MILITARY LEADER NOT OBAMA IF YOU READ

It is important to remember that the United States and Iran are *already* at war with each other, and that began with the Iranian invasion and occupation of our Embassy in Tehran in 1979, considered U.S. soil by any diplomatic standard.
It is also important to understand and recognize that the reason Iran is now an enemy of the U.S. is due to the incredible incompetence and malfeasance of former President Jimmy Carter, who encouraged the overthrow of the Shah of Iran, called the Ayatollah Khomeini a ‘godly man’ and is solely responsible for radical Islam achieving their first major victory which was taking over Iran, a modern 20th century nation with solid infrastructure, a thriving economy, solid military organization, and prior to Carter stabbing the Shah in the back, Iran had cordial relations with Israel, had NO nuclear ambitions, and was actually a force for stability in the Middle East.
And it should likewise be understood that it was due to Carter and his National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski that the 8 year Iraq-Iran War broke out. In the Spring of 1980, Brzezinski traveled to Amman Jordan where he met with representatives of Saddam Hussein (some say with Saddam himself) and conveyed the message that the United States would not be heartbroken if Iraq were to attack and annex disputed Iranian territory, and U.S. satellite intel data was used to convince the Iraqis that Iran would be unlikely to prevail in such a conflict (said data being doctored to create a false sense of confidence in the Iraqis), thus Iraq attacked Iran and the rest is history. Why would Carter do this? Because Iran was continuing to thumb it’s nose at Carter and was refusing to release the hostages, and this was just one more clumsy attempt by Carter to try and find a way out of the crisis.
And, everyone should clearly understand that due to the U.S. paralysis at that time, the Soviets correctly deduced that the U.S. would do nothing to stop a Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, and THAT created the entire series of events in which the Mujahideen in Afghanistan was supported and supplied by the U.S. in resistance to their Soviet occupiers, this laid the groundwork for the Taliben to eventually come to power, and ironically it was in August 2001 that the Russians issued a diplomatic protest with the Taliban due to their naming Osama bin Laden as their ‘commander-in-chief’ of their armed forces.
All of these events were set into motion by the foolish and naive actions of an inexperienced President, Jimmy Carter.
America cannot risk that sort of inexperience again, especially during a time of war.
As for Iran?
Tehran will have to join the exclusive club of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, because the Islamofascist mentality that presides over Iran is just as fanatical and unable to change course just as the militarists in Japan were psychologically unable to surrender in World War II. It took the power of the atomic bomb to end that War, just as it will take nuclear weapons to disarm and demilitarize Iran today.
Assuming the rest of the world has the guts to do so. Ahmadinejad is a madman, soon to be a nuclear armed madman.
We better pray the if the U.S. is unable to act, that Israel will. And soon.

Possibly all that is true.
Let’s go back, though, to our putting the Shah on the throne. The one the Iranians call ‘the bloody shah’. He murdered many of his own people.
Yes, he might have been friendly to the US, yes he might have been friendly to Israel - but he was not especially friendly to many of his own countrymen.
Yes, our help in Aghanistan made a folk hero of Bin Laden.
We can also lay many of the problems in Zimbabwe at the feet of the Carter Administration. This allowed so many people to simply be butchered.
Will we ever learn that we have no business messing in our people’s country and lives?
Supposedly we went into IRaq to ‘free the IRaqi’ people from a bloody tyrant. One we had been very ‘helpful’ to for some time previously. I’m wondering if the brutality they suffered and the body count under Saddam is anywhere near what they are going through and will go through because of this war. (Remember, freeing the Iraqis was an afterthought.)
How many times have we put a madman on the throne, so to speak, only to have to take him out?
We only know what this admiminstration and it’s media is telling us. That’s how we ended up in this travesty of a war in Iraq - by listening to all the hype about Saddam being a madman, going to attack us in 45 minutes, mushroom shaped clouds.
Does Iran hate us - I’m sure they do. We do have a history of meddling in their affairs and this President has done nothing but try to entice them to act.
How much more can Halliburton, KBR, Blackwater, the Bush and Cheney family and others in the government, make off another war in the ME?
How much nearer to our knees can this country be brought by fighting another war on borrowed money - from a Communist country no less?
Remember, communism, that evil we fought. Remember almost 60,000 soldiers in Vietnam, how many in Korea, and other assorted ‘little wars’? Now we can’t wait to give them our economy, our country????
When we dropped the bomb on Japan, we were the only ones to possess it. Now many countries, large and small have the destructive capability.
Once that is started, every tyrantdom, large and small, will feel it is OK to use that to solve their problems.
Do we really want to be the one to unleash that horror on the world? Nuclear war, fallout, etc., is not a respector of persons or countries.
Remember we have an open and inviting border. One our government makes sure doesn’t have too very much ‘policing’. What makes anyone think if the Iranians hate us to so very much, they don’t already have devices in this country? It doesn’t have to be anything huge to do the job, remember.
So our government, that is fighting a war to keep us safe and wants to attack Iran to keep us safe, is leaving our borders open. They are open, inviting and the entire world is aware of that.
Could maybe we put all this together and wonder if our government really is doing all this to protect this country? Maybe wonder if Iran is really that much of a threat?
Those sitting here talking so macho will have their families at risk, children, grandchildren, etc.

The fact is, under the Shah’s government, Iran was making steady progress as a society, women were treated with respect and as equals, not as property forced to hide behind burqas, and children were not executed by hangings. Was the Shah an authoritarian? Yes indeed. If given the choice, would the Iranian people prefer to endure the abuses of the Shah compared to the terror inflicted by the Islamo-mullahs and their thugs?
The answer to that question should be self evident.
Compared to the Ayatollah Khomeini and his successors, the Shah of Iran was a humanitarian.
Invoking the whole ‘BushCo’ mee-mee about Halliburton et al, is an exercise in moon-battery, that is the prattle of the Cindy Sheehans and Code Pinkos, and is not even worthy of response. The truth of the matter is, the policy of ‘regime change’ towards Iraq became policy and was signed into law during the Clinton Administration, with all the usual liberal Democrats signing on because ‘Saddam was a threat’ and they then executed a 180 degree turn once the Bush Administration actually enforced what was the LAW (meaning, taking out Saddam like the garbage he was).
The fact is, under the Bush Administration, over 60 million Muslims are now breathing free air after the liberation of Afghanistan and Iraq. That should be something to celebrate, not something to condemned.
There are many things that could have been done differently over the past 8 years of this Administration, no question about it but does anyone in their right mind really think “Gosh, I sure wish Al Gore had been President on 9/11”, or maybe “Golllleee, if only John F’in Kerry had been elected President in 2004, why, peace would be breakin’ out all over!” ... ?
I think not.

The people the Shah butchered and their families probably would not agree with that version of history.
Would they prefer the Shah over the Muslim extremists - who knows. What they would have preferred, I’m thinking is that some foreign nation, wanting control of the natural resources (Oil) to not meddle, stirring up chaos, that gets visited on the most innocent. It might have been better, it might have been worse. The fact is, we interferred and people died.
It remains to be seen if Muslims are breathing free air. The dust isn’t settled in Afghanistan by a long shot. What will happen in Iraq when we leave is not settled either. It’s possible it will be better in Iraq with us gone. Whether or not that is true, we don’t know. How well all the various factions over there will be able to work it out and how many more Iraqis will be killed, maimed, and made homeless in the process?
I would have to check on the ‘signed into law’ thing, but it really doesn’t matter if it was signed into law. It was wrong.
I’m sure other countries might perfer a ‘regime change’ in this country. God help us if the only criteria to be able to do that is to pass a law and have a bigger army, or just a small nuclear weapon.
Does anyone really, truly think the American people would have rallied behind an invasion of a sovereign nation that posed little or no threat to this country had it been presented to them as a ‘regime change’, and in Iraq? I don’t think so. In comes lies, ‘flawed intelligence’ (we really believe that) and more fearmongering. After the people are whipped into a frenzy, the military on the move, then we decide it’s for the Iraqi people.
After all the spin, the swaggering, the mushroom shaped clouds, and the ‘we know what they have, we know how much, we know where and a red ‘x’ marks the spot’ - according to a poll, 50% of the people believed that Saddam had something to do with 9/11. That was a brilliant piece of propagandizing.
My grandson’s teacher told them Saddam attacked us on 9/11.
So that makes it OK what has been done, because Gore or Kerry might have been worse?
That kind of reasoning didn’t work with my kids when they were 10 years old and it doesn’t work for the PResident of the US.
What I would have preferred is exactly what I prefer and we don’t have, this election - a real choice.
Some questions:
Why Iraq? and why then? Was it because sanctions were going to be lifted and Saddam had already made deals to sell his oil to other countries - and to trade them in Euros? That could not have been good news to an administration headed by oil men and woman.
Why did Bin Laden suddenly become ‘bin laden, who’? Why after all the hoopla, and the bombing, after putting an oil consultant on the throne in Afghanistan, did Bin Laden become ‘not important’?
Why weren’t our borders locked down by noon on 9/11? Certainly by the next day?
Why weren’t ME illegal aliens, working at the airports rounded up? The very airports that allowed the hijackers on the planes? Why were these same ME illegal aliens made federal employees rather than being rounded up and questioned and deported? Don’t tell me it was so they could be questioned. Nothing was keeping them from being questioned remaining employees of a private corporation. They could have been questioned a heck of a lot easier in jail.
Why if we are being threatened by terrorists, who do not fight like an army, whose object is to strike terror usually in the civilian population, are our borders still open and inviting? Why has there been no wholesale rounding up and deportation of those who do not belong in this country?
If Iran is a terrorist nation, supporting and financing terrorists we are told, a nation that hates us and wants our demise - are our borders still open and welcoming to anyone from anywhere in the world to walk across?
In short, we are an occupied nation of millions of foreign nationals - some who definitely don’t like us, and our borders open for others to enter - and our government is protecting them - yet telling us we are fighting a ‘War on Terrorism’?
No name calling won’t deflect the fact that Halliburton has made a killing off this war legally, and an even worse killing illegally.
That’s not even a good try.

After all mess that has created so far by invading Iraq, this administration would to “liberate” 70 more millions of Muslims!? On false intelligence and pretenses that Iran pose a threat to U.S., and that it will soon to acquire nuclear weapons. Once again, lies, lies, and more lies. Yes, Iranian leadership is a bunch of crazy religious lunatics, but last time I checked, Iranian navy was nowhere near coast of U.S. On contrary, our carriers and other ships as well as 150,000 and more troops in Iraq are on Iranian’s doorstep. The only and real threat comes from us to them. Nobody here mentions that 1953 we got deeply involved in overthrow of Iranian prime minister Mossadeq and bringing shah to power. People over there have much longer memory. For them, past is an important part of the future. Starting a new war, with Iran, would be the stupidest mistake ever. What a pity that the only candidate who had a real solution for U.S. and really sound foreign policy - Ron Paul - have never had any chance. He could restore the integrity of the presidency and role of U.S. as a truly leader of the world

CIA and Pentagon are not actually telling everything in the media, MSM feels that such act is contemptuous.
There are information obtained in the 2003 Invasion of Iraq pointing to secret meetings and exchange of information among US enemies including Hamas, Iran, Al Quaida, and Saddam Hussein.
Telling everything to the public is not an option, even to the War Commission whose session and all information are open to the public.
If everything is made known to us,
1. The Government will be accused of warmongering.
2. Such information will nolonger be construed as intelligence, as the same will surely reach even the enemy.
Our narcissism towards free and open information is overcoming our own common sense on the issue of intelligence. It has betrayed us all leading to our own insecurity.
National security has its price, you have to make a decision on this.
GWH has shown his own leadership and resolve on this issue.

I think we are all intelligent enough to realize that some information is not made public to the world.
The problem comes when our government picks and chooses, changes, spins the information they do present in order to take this country into a devastating war.
People are absolutely just in believing more intelligence might be being manufactured, and presented to us much as the hype and lies leading up the the IRaqi war.
Has the various factions over there had meetings, talked, etc. Absolutely, I believe that. Why would they not? That doesn’t seem like an revelation to someone giving it any thought.
All groups with a common interest and in this case, what they perceive (and perhaps rightly so) a common enemy would meet. They are supposed to set there and allow the US to interfere, infiltrate, bomb, insult, threaten their countries and NOT meet to discuss it.
If that is the extent of the ‘intelligence’ this country has - I certainly hope they haven’t spent much to get it as most any thinking person, with just a modicum of rationality and objectivity, could conclude that happened.
Wonder do the communist countries met to discuss ways to further and/or protect their agenda? I’m guessing they do.
Our wars in the past fighting communism has a much higher body count than that of the Muslims. Wonder why we are doing business with, making concessions to, making Russia and China wealthy and healthy (militarily and economically), giving China almost unfettered access to this country?
You know Bin Laden was the devil, we were whipped up to ‘go get Bin Laden’, then suddenly he’s not important.
For decades we have given tens of thousands of lives to the fight against communism and billions of our dollars - now they aren’t important? In fact, now communism is so great we want to help it succeed and spread to the detriment of the economy of this country?
China has spies in this country stealing our technology secrets. I’m thinking China has people bought and paid for in our very government.
Yet, Iran is the threat?
Come on people, please do not fall for the swaggering, boasting, macho stuff again.
As for Pres. Bush being a leader - we do not need a leader in this country. We are not followers. We are supposed to be the force that drives the engine - not the other way around.
Perhaps that conception is one of our main problems.

We live in a world where the enemy doesn’t need 20,000 airplanes and 45,000 tanks to DESTROY us anymore. The enemy doesn’t need millions of men or the backing of an entire nation. The enemy doesn’t fear death or reprisal. The enemy doesn’t have morals or ethics. They will kill their own people, use women and children as human shields, shooting from behind them at soldiers and others. The enemy will park missiles in apartment complexes and then take video and distribute it to AP and Reuters if the building is hit by bombs. We live in a world where the enemy could park an oil freighter 50 miles off our coast and fire a short range missile with a nuke that could wipe out Washington, destroy our government and wipe out every piece of electronic data for hundreds of miles and they would have less than 2 minutes warning.
We can no longer afford to wait for the enemies of freedom, justice and liberty to attack us first. The liberal mass media is complicit in the actions of the enemies of the USA on a scale never seen before in the history of the USA. During World War II this would have never been tolerated but now we allow the media to lie, malign the reputation and work of the troops, issue half facts that it never retracts, provide aid and comfort to the enemy and do a thousand other things that would have landed them in jail for treason in World War II. All of this is going on in an environment FAR more dangerous than World War II.
I recently saw the movie “Rambo 2008” which has a plot that involves the christian missionaries going up river to help the people. These people, like the liberals, fail to realize that some people in the world don’t care to be negotiated with. They dont care about ethics or justice or honor. They would as soon bayonet a 5 year old child as take a cup of tea and with as little conscience. They don’t care about entreaties of peace or compromise or diplomacy. They live in a world filled with sadistic excesses and they would shoot you and your children, rape your girl children and throw you all in the river on a whim. The missionaries in the movie and the liberals fail to realize that the only way to deal with those people is to kill them. No that doesn’t make us like them. Defending the innocent by killing the evil doesn’t make you evil. It makes you, like the men and women serving in iraq, afghanistan, and elsewhere in the world, a HERO.
My only regret is that I am too old and asthmatic to throw my hat into the ring because, I have to tell you, I would rather brave IED’s and be shot at by wacko terrorists than listen to one more “news” story or “commentary” put out by the anti-american treasonous Soros or any of his friends. I would rather be involved in a firefight where my life hung in the balance than put up with the gut wrenching garbage that comes out about the finest people we have serving in the military. I would rather attempt to disarm an EFP than listen to one more stinking, STUPID “peace activist”.
The way to peace is through strength and through the guts of the horrific people that inhabit this world, not by lying down with out head in the sand, waiting to get shot in the back of the head before we do anything.

This ‘liberal media’ was fine to perpetrate the fear mongering, the mushroom shaped cloud, the WMD’s, and all the other ‘flawed intelligence’ that got us into this war.
They were doing fine when they carried out the administration’s slant on the Pat Tillman case, on the Jessica Lynch story, etc.
The carried the water just fine then.
We have open borders, completely open borders. Not only are they open, but the entire world knows that our government is protecting and aiding and abetting people to cross illegally.
We have somewhere between 20-40K foreigners here in this country - illegally. We don’t know from what country. We don’t know where they are. We don’t know how long they have been here. WE don’t know what they are doing.
One thing we can know, they aren’t all here picking lettuce, or plucking chickens - as the politicians would have you believe.
So if these ‘freedom hating’ ME people are totally bent on destroying this nation, why are we inviting the snake into our bosom - and we are.
Our enemies don’t need more than a dozen men to cross that border and come into this country intent on harming us. Yet, we are all following the lead, once again the swaggering, macho talk that invading Iran is our only hope.
Just a thought, but all those that believe Iran is our only problem and we must, simply must attack Iran - a question. What do you think Iran and the Iranians already here in this country, illegally, are going to do when we invade their homeland? Think they might decide to do something here. Think they might decide to send more across our border? Think they are going to sit back and let us do to their country what we did to Iraq and do nothing?
There is also the fact that the biggest threat to the survival of this country as we know it, is already here and it’s not ME terrorists (although I’m sure some are). It is the millions of people from Mexico this government is intent on making citizens. These are people who are not here to become citizens to enjoy our freedom (except to make money), who are going to give this country their allegiance. These are people loyal to Mexico, some with the avowed intent of retaking part of this country.
Think it can’t happen? Of course it can. There are some states already they can control many local governments (and some are large cities), they can control many seats in state houses, and they can elect several national lawmakers - even affect the Presidential election.
They will do as their former President told them to do, ‘Go vote, and when you vote, vote with Mexico in mind.’
The enemy is here already. While we have heroes, and they are heroes, fighting on the other side of the world, this government is giving this country to foreigners.
But let’s go ahead and let this government and the media continue to focus on Iran and the ME, while ignoring the invasion that has already taken place.
Let’s pay no attention to the man behind the curtain that is signing more and more treaties that dilutes the sovereignty of this country.
Those soldiers are heroes because they are soldiers and are doing what they are ordered to do. They would be doing far more to protect this country, if they were on our borders, especially the Southern Border. The NG would be doing more if they were rounding up and deporting all here that should not be in this country.
But let’s go ahead and talk about fighting and macho stuff. That way we don’t have to admit to ourselves that our country has been given away, sold, treatied away, while we are being blinded by the flag waving and drum beats.

Do the pictures have the same warning of strength given there is evidence the Iranians altered the photo with photo shop in order to hide that one missle failed?
