I really appreciate your commentary above. You are absolutely correct! Conservatism is NOT an ideology! It is, rather, reality. As a matter of fact, I am writing my thesis precicely on this topic. I am in the process of getting my masters in history. My thesis involves Edmund Burke’s and Thomas Jefferson’s reaction to the Terror in Revolutionary France. What you are arguing is exactly what Burke stood for. He was vehemently against the abstract ideology emanating from French philosophers. As a matter of fact, he predicted the horrors of the Terror in his “Reflections of the French Revolution.” It is an excellent book. You should read it. He is also known as the father of conservatism. We need a revolution of our own in this country; a revolution that goes back to first principles.
Keep up the good work!
