I was worried when I began reading this article that you were going to say that wind farms cause tornados -or something equally inane.
Forgive me for doubting you!
The fact is however -that writing software to prevent this problem -if in fact there is one -is quite simple. Most radars have a “moving target discriminator” which can be set to ignore anything moving below a preset speed. This is usually used to remove “ground clutter” -eg a mountain in the picture which gives a bright return but which obviously is going nowhere and presents no threat.
Since the windfarms are in fixed locations (only the blades are moving -not the masts) -the fix should be extremely simple.
Besides that -history shows that hardly anyone listens to or acts upon “storm warnings” anyway -they only complain AFTER the storm has hit the trailer park…
